Materials:
glue
12 popsicle sticks per frame
tempera paint
puffy paint
flat sticky magnets
photos
construction paper ornaments (optional)
Have child paint the popsicle sticks. They can pick a color and do the whole thing, or use many colors. When the paint has dried, set them on the photograph that you want to frame... you may have to trim it down (the frame will be square when you're done). Glue two sticks side by side onto the photo on each side
right and left like this ---> || ||
Then glue two sticks side by side on top of those sticks, top and bottom. You now have a square frame. To complete the frame, take one stick on each side and glue them OVER the seam created by the first set of sticks
like this ---> ||| ||| The middle stick being the ones on top (I hope this makes sense!)
Do the same on top and bottom. This creates a layered effect. To finish it off, use the puffy paint to write your sentiment. Megan also had previously cut out hearts and dinosaurs to glue onto the sides of the frame. We decorated our dinosaur with puffy paint as well. Stick the magnets on the back (one on each side to make it hold up on the fridge) and ther you have it!
Dad will LOVE it!
