Welcome to our Craft of the Month for November 1999!

This month's craft represents Thanksgiving!

Pine Cone Turkey

Materials:
glue
pine cone
red felt
orange felt
googly eyes or sequins
feathers

Ahead of time cut the orange felt into the shape of the turkey's feet, and the red felt into the turkey's wattle. Have the child glue the feet onto the bottom of the pine cone (they have to decide which end will be the face!).. and glue the wattle on the face. Allow that to dry for a few minutes (otherwise the feet will drive you nuts!). Then put the feathers on the tail. To do this, you place small amounts of glue on the bottom tips of the feathers, and then poke them into the cone. When done, allow approximately 15 minutes to dry, then glue the eyes on and you are done! This is just SO CUTE... we packed ours away as a permanent part of our Thaksgiving decorations!
